Celebrate Canada Day in Waterloo

Canada Day at UWaterloo

Location: Columnia Fields/ Columbia Lake
Time: 4:00pm – 11:00pm
Hosted by the University of Waterloo, this event is run by volunteer students. Event includes: family activities, live enetertainment, food fair and beer garden, fireworks around 10:00pm

Canada Day Celebrations with Five Rings Taekwondo

Time: 10:00am – 6:00pm
Location:550 Parkside Dr., Waterloo
Come celebrate Canada Day with Five Rings Taekwondo. Fun for the whole family which includes a petting zoo, pony rides, bouncy castles, carnival games and prizes, BBQ, bake sale, raffles, Taekwondo demonstrations, free classes running all day. All proceeds raised are to help fund our amazing Taekwondo competitive team represent Waterloo in future national tournaments.

Celebrate Canada Day in Kitchener

Canada Day in DTK

Time: 4:00pm – 11:00pm
Location: Downtown Kitchener
Visit Downtown Kitchener for a Canada Day like no other! Live music featuring THE GLORIOUS SONS and performances by local bands and touring Canadian bands (Matt Weidinger with Cheryl Lescom and Gary Cain Band, Modern Space, Kiki Rowe and Joceln Alice).
This event offers beer gardens, and a food market with downtown Kitchener’s best food and drink. Then enjoy fireworks off the roof of City Hall!

Canada Day at Waterloo Region Museum

Time: 9:30am – 5:00pm
Locations: Waterloo Region Museum (Doon)
Free admission gives you access to the museum and the living history village for the fun family events. This includes: musical entertainment and fun games (croquet and horseshoes)
Waterloo Region Museum’s volunteer Heritage Singers will be performing in the Freeport Church from 11-12:30 and 1:30-3:00
BBQ lunch will be available for purchase, or you can bring your own picnic.

Fun with games and activities at the boyhood home of Canada’s 10th Prime Minister. Citizenship & Immigration’s Canada Day citizenship ceremony at 2:00.

Riverside Park

Location: Riverside Park, Cambridge
The Canada Day parade starts at 1:00pm at the corners of King and Bishop Streets in Preston. This year’s parade Marshall is Fitz ‘The Whip’ Vanderpool! Plus there are activities for the whole family including a children’s area with lots of fun, live entertainment, PWA Pro Wrestling, singing of the National Anthem and then FIREWORKS!

Friday Night Movies Under The Stars at Shade’s Mill

Time: 9:00pm – 11:00pm
Location: Shade’s Mill (Avenue Road, Cambridge)
Sit back and watch a movie under the stars. July 1 will be a screening of Transformers. Enjoy the outdoor flick in the new outdoor ampitheatre at Shade’s Mills Park.

More Canada Day Celebrations

Canada Day Train Excursion

Time: 1:00pm- 4:00pm
Location: St. Jacob’s Market Station to Elmira
Take a ride on the railway at 1:00pm on Canada Day. The train departs from Market Station in St. Jacob’s and takes a journey on a round trip to Elmira.
Note: This is a 2-3 hour event, including photography and video opportunities.

Location: W. J. Scott Park, New Hamburg
