With Canada’s 150th birthday coming up, we wanted to take some time to really reflect on what we love about our county. Over the Summer we’ll be posting a few blogs about this great nation.

Where do you recommend families travel within Canada?
It’s hard to pick just one place. British Columbia, Lake Louise, Kelowna, The Blue Mountains, St. John’s, Newfoundland. Every place has different scenery, different highlights, and different people – all beautiful Canadians!
I highly recommend Algonquin Park! It’s the most beautiful park anywhere, hands down. The raw rugged, untouched nature draws people from all over the world to experience camping like no other. Real camping with portaging! Plus the rugged beauty is breathtaking. You can really renew and rejuvenate yourself in nature. Some of the largest wine pine trees in the world are amazing to see. The trails are invigorating in any degree of difficulty (some easy, some more challenging). And there are no city lights. At night you can’t even see your hand in front of your face. And the stars…wow!
Ottawa. I love Ottawa for our heritage. We plan on going this year to enjoy the 150th birthday celebrations. They always put on a great show at the Parliament Buildings and it should be even more awesome this year.
This is a big question! The East coast is beautiful – the people are so warm and friendly. I went West last year and the Rockies are beyond anything I can compare them to. Right here in Ontario, I would say Muskoka region is one of my favourites.
I took my family to Ottawa this past Summer and it was a fantastic trip. We visited during the Canada Day celebrations and we had an amazing time visiting museums, eating on patios and walking the whole city.
The Georgian Bay region is a great destination that offers some of the world class beaches and outdoor adventure…right at our doorstep.
In the Summer we love to visit the Pinery with the family in Grand Bend, and Great Wolf Lodge in the Winter (although it can be a bit expensive, it’s a great experience).
